Cold Comforts and Savoury Air: A Hospital for Bodies and Buildings

Playfully critiquing notions of cultural value, heritage and preservation, the project simultaneously treats terminally ill bodies and buildings in Kiruna, Sweden, a city defined by drastic urban and ecological change due to over-mining. Establishing a scenographic architecture, the project choreographs surgerical restoration as a public performance between locals, conservators, builders, doctors, miners and residents.
